Pudding Race

Brackla Harriers Merthyr Mawr Christmas Pudding Race

Our History

The Brackla Harriers Merthyr Mawr Christmas Pudding Race is a landmark event in the South Wales running calendar. Taking place on a Sunday in early December (tide dependent), the race attracts a faithful following, averaging in recent years over 700 entrants (18 years+) The event appeals to all types of runners – from elite runners donning their club vests to  fun runners in their festive fancy dress. The race covers just over 6 miles, taking in a range of terrains including ‘the big dipper’- Europe’s second highest sand dune, with a mulled wine and mince pie stop halfway. Brackla Harriers take great pride in the organisation and delivery of our beloved Pudding Race each year and our 80+ Harrier marshalls look forward to welcoming runners old and new to this year’s event

”All at BikeAbility Wales wish to say a massive thank you to the Brackla Harriers Running Club for their amazing energy running event in Merthyr Mawr and the resulting donation of £500 to the charity. This money will go towards the ongoing costs for equipment that help to ensure that people of all abilities are able to ride. Thanks again – Merry Christmas!” – Bike Ability Wales

”Once again hundreds of amazing people took on this festive challenge and helped to raise vital funds for a really worthwhile cause. We hope this money will help support Llamau’s incredible work supporting young people and vulnerable women who are facing the worrying prospect of homelessness.
